Snowman Building Contest

Another activity idea for this winter... A snowman building contest! Yes I do steal all my activity ideas from Gilmore Girls. I wonder if I can find a complete list of Stars Hollow's events?? Anyway...

Location: Park

Hot cocoa & Irish coffee will be flowing. I'll have each participant bring a gift (approx $5 value or more) as an initiation fee. The winner of the contest gets loot! It will be fun to see what crazy stuff the winner ends up with - a brand new pair of tweezers! French onion dip! A copy of Moby Dick!

For judges, I'll have everyone attending vote on secret ballets, you just can't vote for your own snowman. Ballots will be included within goodie bags of winter treats, such as a novelty mug and homemade spiced donuts.

Music: winter canival theme

Afterward we can head in doors for a double feature of Jack Frost & Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman

Snowman

So I thought of a way to do my own "Writers Block" since the LJ version asks dumb questions. I'll take the last 2 digits on the clock (today is 03) and count tags the top of my tags list and then again from the bottom of my tags list. This will give me two topics, I'll choose one to revisit and add more on the subject. It will also help me keep my tags in order, I like to keep my tags nice and neat.

Todays Tag: Winter

Yesterday, Ed made me a snowman to cheer me up. Then he humped it. I was cheered.

Snow & Dad

We finally have a little bit of snow, I have such an urge to go run and play in it. My Dad used to take us to Kensington Park to walk the woods to find deer and feed them carrots. I think I learned my love of nature and outdoors from him, no matter what the season. We both love to plant gardens, rake leaves, build snowmen. I showed him how to make a compost bin last year, he of course had to show me up and make his 5x as big as mine - haha. But he's kept up with it and seems to like it.

Ed and I had dinner with Dad and Syliva last week. Dad packed me a lunch for work with grapes and the leftover roast and potatos, he even remembered not to put in any carrots. It was nice taking a lunch to work that my dad packed me.

Winter Hibernation

I’m deep in winter hibernation, I’ll I want to do is sleep or curl up in front of the TV under a comforter watching House M.D. or Sopranos or play video games. I’m so cold all the time.

I’m ok with this, seems like the natural cycle of things.

Winter Blues

I thought procrastination was my depression trigger, but yesterday I pushed myself to get my stuff down when all I really wanted to do was mope. It didn’t help, and I didn’t get everything done. Maybe it’s the winter blues, which it fine by me, if only I could enjoy them. It sounds weird, but I wish I could revile in the shadows for a while as a way of personal growth and then move on. But I’m not enjoying it and I’m still sad. I tried glamour bombing yesterday but I couldn’t get myself to do it. I know it would have worked, if not just for the day, but I could raise the nerve of the energy. The form of glamour bombing I was going to try was smiling and waving to people at red lights. Yea it's dorky, but it changes moods, mine and sometimes theirs. Maybe I’ll try again today and I’ll read my favorite things list.

Fear of death

I woke up early this morning scared senseless that Ed might die. I worried, cried, and worried more. I have no reason to think that Ed might die other than the roads were snowy this morning and he might get in accident or that he might fall off a building or lift at work. It's a not a rational fear, but every now and then I do this. I could not stop until I finally gave in and called him at work. It's such a waste of energy but once I get going I don't know how to stop worrying about it.

Ed and I are going to fall asleep on the night of my 100th birthday (He'll be 107) and we will die peacefully together in our sleep in each others arms.
