Pear Pie



Pears from Guila and Chuck's pear tree. A late summer treasure.


Pear Pie


Crust:
2c graham cracker crumbs
3tb sugar
4tb melted butter

• Mix ingredients and press into a 9 inch pie dish, save a 1/2 cup for top of pie
• Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees

Filling:
5 to 6 large pears: peeled, cored, and sliced
1c sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
4 tablespoons flour
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

• Fill the pie shell with the pear slices.
• In a small bowl, beat together the sugar, butter, flour and eggs
• Pour over the pears. Place the pie on a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
• Reduce the oven temperature to 350 and bake 1 hour.
• Sprinkle with extra pie crust mix for a pie top. Cover loosely with foil to prevent over browning during the last half hour of cooking time. Serve warm.
