July House Project: The Garage. ::queue scary music::

Forget Feng Shui, i'm using the Art of War to tackle this job.

This will be a joint effort between me and Ed because it is such a cluster fuck of crap we've accumulated. I just hope we both get out a live. If I don't post in a while, send reinforments.

Step one: divide and conquer.
We'll pull everything out and separate into sections. “Keeping”, “good will”, “trash” and “think about”. By the end of the day the "think about" pile will be have it's fate determined.

Step two: strategize
Set up an organizing system in the garage. We have lots of shelving units that need to be strategically placed and a plan to keep it organized needs to be put in place. I think the key is to make it easy to get to all the storage units. We can't have box on top of box because if we ever have to put something away in the camping gear that is buried under other boxes, it just won't happen.

Step three: reassimilate
Put everything away, in an organized fashion. I think we'll break our stuff up into sections: Seasonal storage, bikes, yawn & garden, home repair, outdoor toys, camping and long term storage.

Updates we want to make it the garage:

New garage door opener with an outside keypad to open the door. We may also get a new garage door, but that will require us to eat Ramen needles for the rest of the month.

We’ve decided to keep the grill outside, to save space in the garage, so we need a grill cover. The grill also needs a new bottom board that holds the propane tank.

Part of the organizational strategy is to hang the garden tools on the wall, from some sort of hanging system we need to buy. I think it's called a peg board system?

Fix our spare car, which it currently wasting space in the garage.

Paint the outside of the garage and basketball backboard.

Get a new basket ball net.
